My Approach to Healing
Healing is not something we achieve. Healing is a way of being & relating that we practice - over and over, in different ways, at different times. It is the conscious remembering of who we are, of the ancestral wisdom we carry & of the worlds we are capable of creating. I am simply here to walk with you on that journey of remembrance - to companion you as you reclaim your truth, your power & your capacity to dream and create. More than anything, I am here to reflect your innate light back to you.
I don’t believe healing is a solitary act - when harm occurs in relationship, healing must also. Western dominant culture often overlooks the aspects of healing that must be a collaborative process, one that is intertwined with the communities we are part of. By reclaiming our collective power we can expand the possibilities that arise when we come together to heal & grow.
I seek to create spaces where we can listen deeply to ourselves & to each other, spaces where we can shed the layers that no longer serve us & joyfully remember the worlds we are capable of creating together.
Healing, in this way, is not just personal; it is radical, collective, and liberatory. It’s about practicing & building a world that we can all thrive in, a world rooted in interconnection, care, justice & compassion.
Why do i focus on somatics & embodiment?
In order to envision a world of equity & justice that we have yet to experience in our lifetimes, in order to build the lives we have only ever imagined - we need to be able to be, relate & create in entirely new ways. The ways that got us here can not build new worlds. Somatics offers us the skills to do so, and to practice Liberation in our bodies now.
Embodiment involves studying how individuals and communities adapt to and are shaped by their experiences & identities, as well as the systems & landscapes we live within. These adaptations, rooted in our innate bodily wisdom, foster resilience and survival strategies that influence our actions, beliefs, values, emotions, and relationships. While these adaptive skills may sometimes align with our true values & desires, they often reveal themselves when they do not.
Colonialism & trauma are intrinsically intertwined, both contributing to feelings of disconnection from land, body, spirit & community. As our adaptations become embodied, they integrate into our cognitive patterns, neural pathways, nervous systems, and muscle memory, effectively becoming a reflexive & often unconcious part of who we are both psychologically and socially.
A somatic approach holistically reconnects the body, mind, emotions, spirit, and relationships - through tangible & accessible practices. Over time & repetition this allows us to examine and transform our automatic responses while fostering new choices and skills, both individually and relationally. This method can facilitate a significant paradigm shift that depathologizes trauma & reduces shame, offering a powerful alternative to the often harmful Western lens of healing.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world.
